Cleansing/Charging/Preparing Crystals

  1. Water Water is a universl cleanser. If you have access to the ocean, ocean water is wonderful. If not, spring water, lake water, and filtered water can also work well, as long as the water is either directly from nature or clean (filtered properly.) Some people also add salt to their water because of its electric properties You can simply rinse the crystal in water, or you can follow up by placing the crystal in a clear glass filled with water. Place the glass on your windowsill, ideally facing the south, to charge in the sun.
  2. The Moon The Moon can also be used for cleansing and charging. Some people make a ritual of burying their crystal under a full moon, to take advantage of the magnet forces of the moon in combination with the earth. You may also place your crystal in the direct light of the moon.
  3. Smudging You can cleanse your crystals by smudging them with sage, incense, or sweet grass.
  4. Other Crystals You can also cleanse and charge your crystal with other crystals. A crystal can be placed on a crystal cluster or generator (single large quartz crystal). Citrine in particular is excellent for cleansing the other crystals in your collection. It is one of the only two crystals that is automatically self-cleansing, and will cleanse other crystals. The other is Kyanite, which is also extremely helpful in chakra alignment.

Pictures from Reunion SSFHS 1975

I promised to post pictures from the SSFHS 75 reunion I attended in an earlier post. Here are pictures of myself and the three long time friends I saw at the reunion.

In the first picture are Jenny and Tess.

And then there is Cindy in picture 2.

Considering we are all pretty close in age, the women are gorgeous! However, I have aged less gracefully. Boy do I look shabby in these pictures. Gotta do something about that...

Here is a link to more reunion pictures.

SSF High School Reunion

How often does one get to see three romantic interests from the past at one time? Last weekend, I attended a high school reunion party. Mainly for the class of 75, but all classes were invited from both of South San Francisco's high schools, SSFHS and El Camino HS. I'd known about this party for over a year now as I was personally contacted by one of the organizers. That being one Cindy Scarborough. We had been very close friends for a while, in fact, I took her to my Senior Ball. I hadn't seen her since college days. She now lives down LA way and though we'd been in touch off and on since she returned to California last year, I didn't think I was going to go to the party.

That was until three days before the reunion. I got a last reminder email from Cindy and strolled up to the reunion website where I came upon a scrolling list of names of people that were planning to attend. I didn't recognize most of the names but two stood out, Teresa Zabaljauregui and Jennifer Herbert. Tess' mom, Gloria, and my mom were close friends and our families were practically raised together. (see picture) In college, I even tried dating Tess, once. It didn't work out. Don't get me wrong, Tess was gorgeous, but it was like going out with my sister. I never told her. We lost touch. Not to long ago, my Aunt Murna (my sister Chris' godmother and another of my mom's childhood girlfriends) had mentioned that Tess was living in Foster City, recently divorced and laidoff from a long time bank job. Though I would have liked to have gotten in touch, I couldn't find a good reason to without looking like trouble. Jenny Herbert was arguably my first "girlfriend" that being the first girl who was really interested in me in junior high school. I remember I used to walk her home after school. But, I was a fickle bastard back then, once I got interested in the opposite sex, I adopted a new set of friends and ignored everyone else. I hadn't seen Jenny since then.

Well, I just couldn't believe it. As it turned out, Camilla was going up to lake Tahoe with her book club, so I was free and clear to go to the reunion! Talked to Cindy, pay at the door and I'll see you there. Got my mom to ask Murna for Tess' telephone number. Got ahold of Tess, who was surprised to hear from me. She said her two brothers, Ernie and Rafael were going too, as well as Laura (Murna's daughter) and Jenny (flying down from Kent, WA, just to attend). The party was at the SFO Clarion Hotel, so I arranged to stay at my parents house in SSF and I was set!

Needless to say, I was a bit apprehensive as I have not aged well, having gained much weight and arthritis has fused my neck vertebrae in a permanently hunched position. Well, fuck it, how could I pass up this chance to see these three women.

So I went and it was a blast! Pictures to come...

Dreaming Again

I'm waking up in a darkened room, big room like an exhibit hall but I believe it's my living room. Some people here. I edge around a couch? and there's a man with a full beard. He greets me (but I can't hear him) and motions me to sit. In front of me is a big, squarish see-thru box thing with a tube inside. I know immediately that this is some sort of meditation box. I position myself so I can look thru the tube like sighting a gun looking down the barrel. The front and back of the tube line up to become an open circle. I know that if I concentrate and focus on the circle something will happen. Sort of a zen thing.. relaxed controlled breathing, clear my mind, become the circle... a pale, blue sphere of light begins to form. Wispy around the edges, it's in motion, slowly getting bigger as it rolls towards me. Bigger, bigger.. I coax it out of the tube and now it's in the box, floating before my eyes. Cool. I focus down the tube again and create another sphere, red this time. Again, another.. I will them to merge. One sphere collides with another. I think morph and they form a translucent white box. I become aware of some other people around me. I begin to realize they can't see into the box. the images inside are for me alone.

Weird Dream

Dozing in front of my computer I dream...

...waking to bright sunlight streaming in thru the window behind me. I turn around to pull the shade. Part of the window is not covered. Framed by this opening, I can see the usual bland view of the fence and nondescript bushes of the small side yard next to the house. Except to my surprise, it's slowly moving! It took a moment to register and I get that weird sense of disorientation, like when your sitting in a parked car and the car next to you starts to slowly pull out. Suddenly, I was outside, stumbling against the moving fence. The side yard, fence, plants, ground, everthing! was being pushed out as if it was being bulldozed toward the front of the house. And me with it! I begin to realize that things are not what they seem. Around me, everything outside appears to be a facade. Plywood structures and temporary forms, the entire neighborhood looks like a movie set under construction. A few hundred yards away, I can see big bulldozing machines at work. I reassure myself that this is indeed real and that I have woken up. Off in the distance I can see people and cars moving so I go in that direction...
